Head of Commercial

As the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the company's commercial strategy and operations. Your role will involve managing trading activities, developing and executing sales strategies, and ensuring the growth and profitability of the business. You will lead a team of commercial professionals and work closely with other departments to achieve company goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in trading commodities, specifically cotton and yarn, and a proven track record of success in commercial management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Commercial Strategy: Formulate and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives. Identify new market opportunities and expand the trading portfolio.
- Trading Operations Management: Oversee and manage all trading activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Develop risk management strategies to minimize exposure.
- Sales and Business Development: Drive sales initiatives and business development efforts to increase market share and revenue. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team. Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Market Analysis and Insights: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Use insights to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
- Financial Performance Management: Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the commercial division. Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial targets and improve profitability.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners. Ensure favorable terms and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with other departments such as finance, operations, and logistics to ensure seamless execution of commercial activities and alignment with overall business objectives.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives to senior management and the board of directors.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management, with a strong background in trading. Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing trading operations.

- Technical Skills:
  - Proficient in trading platforms and commodity trading software.
  - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  - Familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
  - Understanding of risk management and hedging strategies in commodities trading, particularly cotton and yarn.

- Skills and Competencies:
  - Strong leadership and team management skills.
  - Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.
  - Analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  - Proficient in market analysis and financial performance management.
  - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  - Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

- Language: Proficiency in Azer, English and Russian is required. Additional languages are a plus.
